We were tangled together like we needed each other to survive. I knew it was just one night, but it felt like so much more.

L.J. Shen’s writing is smart, sharp, and eloquent. Once you start reading any of her works, it’s practically impossible to put the book down. Her stories are kind of similar in a sense of making consistent changes to a general setting and the nature of a conflict, but the core is essentially the same. You get a perfect alpha hero as well as a unique heroine with special qualities to melt the heart of a given asshole. Dirty Headlines was no different but entertaining, nonetheless. I was basically glued to the pages from start to finish, only taking short coffee breaks.

Célian Laurent was arrogant, cold-hearted, intelligent, and sarcastic, bordering on the line between cruel and crude. A true alpha with a capital ‘A’ and a very dirty mouth, eating your heart and unapologetically spitting it out. Jude was a perfect match for him. Strong and fierce, loyal and dedicated, with lots of sass and passion, as well as love and kindness. But most importantly, she had the power and willingness to stand up to Célian.

But falling into the wrong hands is just as bad as crashing into nothing.

The chemistry between Célian and Jude was sizzling right from the start. Both of them were neither able to nor wanting to resist one another. They were consciously playing with fire, not afraid to get burned in the oh so desired process. The banter between the two made me blush and laugh out loud. The sex scenes were… intense.

The author’s books are always fascinating and mesmerizing. Dirty Headlines was an addicting enemies-to-lovers story filled with swoony characters you cannot help but root for. Célian and Jude were sexy together and surprisingly sweet. Definitely check out the book in order to quickly pump up the mood!
